ALL THE RUST - how to join ========================== What you need 1. Rust on Steam (installed and up to date), and Steam running and logged in. 2. LogMeIn Hamachi, joined to the host's network (the host gives you the network name and password). 3. About 4 GB of free space on the drive where Rust is installed. Play 1. Turn Hamachi on (power button) and check that the host shows green. 2. Start AllTheRustLauncher.exe. It downloads or updates the modpack. The first time that is about 3.8 GB; later only the changed files are downloaded. 3. Press Play. Rust starts and connects to the server by itself. Always start through the launcher: every start installs the newest version of the pack, and the mod only talks to the server when the game was started by the launcher. The first start is slow The first time (and after every Rust update) the mod loader prepares itself. A black console window shows progress and the game window can take 5-10 minutes to appear. Don't close it. Later starts are normal speed. Anti-cheat, please read The launcher builds a SEPARATE copy of Rust next to your Steam library (folder "RustModded"). It uses hard links, so it takes almost no extra space. Your normal Steam Rust is never changed. The modded copy runs WITHOUT Easy Anti-Cheat. Only use it for this server; the launcher always connects you here. Never join official or community servers with the modded copy. For normal Rust, start it from Steam. Windows says "Windows protected your PC" The launcher is a small private program and isn't code-signed. Click "More info", then "Run anyway". Problems "Steam isn't running" Start Steam, log in, press Play again. "Hamachi isn't connected" Switch Hamachi on and join the host's network. "Can't reach the server" The host may be offline, or Hamachi isn't connected to the host yet. "not the host's version" Update Rust in Steam (Library > Rust > Update), or the host has to update. "Rust is already running" Close Rust (normal or modded), then press Play. Downloads fail or stop Press Retry. Finished files are kept, so it continues where it stopped. The game crashes or looks wrong Press "Verify / repair files" (checks every file and fixes damaged ones). Something else Press "Open log" and send launcher.log to the host. The game's mod log is RustModded\BepInEx\LogOutput.log. Uninstall Delete the RustModded folder (next to your Steam library, e.g. D:\SteamLibrary\RustModded) and the folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\AllTheRust. Your Steam Rust stays as it is.
